We collect information you provide directly to us, such as when you create an account, participate in family activities, or communicate with us. This includes user-generated content like photos, check-ins, notes, and whiteboard drawings. We also use Microsoft Clarity to capture how you use and interact with our application through behavioral metrics, heatmaps, and session replay to improve our services. By using our application, you agree that we and Microsoft can collect and use this data.

We use the information we collect to provide, maintain, and improve our services, including gamification features, family coordination tools, and personalized AI insights. Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), our legal basis for processing this data includes: (a) performing our contract with you; (b) our legitimate interest in improving and securing our platform; and (c) your explicit consent where required. We do not sell your personal data to third-party advertisers.

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services. You have the right to request the erasure of your data at any time directly within the app settings. Family admins (parents) also have the right to delete the entire family group; this action will permanently delete all shared data, photos, and family history associated with that group from our active servers within 30 days, unless retention is required by law.

FamMedley does not process or store credit card information on our servers. All monetization and subscriptions are handled through Apple's App Store and Google's Play Store. For subscription fulfillment and account management, we process basic purchase data provided by Apple (and RevenueCat), such as purchase date and subscription status. We do not sell this data to third parties. Your financial data is protected by their respective privacy policies.

FamMedley is designed for family use. While there is no lower age limit for family members, any user under 18 must be invited and managed by an Admin who is at least 18 years old. By inviting a minor, the Admin provides verifiable parental consent for the collection and processing of that minor's data. Parents have the absolute right to review, manage, and freely delete any content created by their children at any time without the child's permission.

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your family's data. As a global platform, your data may be stored or processed in countries outside of your residence, including the United States. We ensure all data transfers comply with applicable laws, including the use of Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) where necessary. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

We may monitor and review User-Generated Content (UGC) reported as objectionable by other users. Our platform administrators will take appropriate action, which may include removing the content or suspending the user responsible, to ensure a safe environment for all families. Users have the right to challenge moderation decisions by contacting us.

Depending on your location, you have specific rights regarding your personal data, including: (a) the right to access the data we hold; (b) the right to rectify inaccurate information; (c) the right to data portability; (d) the right to object to or restrict processing; and (e) the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority. You can exercise these rights by contacting us.

FamMedley's integration with Google services allows you to synchronize your calendar events. In compliance with the Google API Services User Data Policy, we disclose the following practices:

Data Accessed: We access and collect Google Calendar events, including event titles, descriptions, times, locations, and attendee details from the specific calendars you authorize.

Data Usage: We process this data solely to display your external schedules alongside family activities in the shared calendar to streamline coordination. We do not use this data for any other purpose.

Data Sharing: We do not share Google user data with any third parties or advertisers. It is strictly shared within your private, invite-only family group to facilitate collaboration among your members.

Data Storage & Protection: Your Google data is securely transmitted via HTTPS, encrypted at rest, and stored in our protected database with robust security controls to prevent unauthorized access.

Data Retention & Deletion: Data is retained only while your account is active and Google Calendar sync is enabled. You can unlink your Google account or delete your FamMedley account at any time in the app settings, which will permanently delete all cached Google data within 30 days. Additionally, our use of Google Workspace APIs adheres to the Limited Use requirements.
